Disney ‘Magic’ To Undergo Renovation

The Disney “Magic” will be renovated from Sept. 7 to Oct. 10 in Cadiz, Spain. The oldest of the Disney cruise ships, it was launched on July 30, 1998 and is based in Galveston.

According to WESH.com, changes include a grand new atrium lobby and a children’s area with Marvel characters, a three-story water slide, and a spa to stimulate the “Senses.”

Called the AquaDunk, the water ride starts with a near vertical launch, which sends guests in a tube 20 over the side of the ship before splashing down on the pool deck. Also featured will be the AquaLab water playground, Twist n’ Spout slide and Nephews’ Splash Zone for toddlers.

For the adults, there will be Palo and the Rio de Janerio-inspired Caricoa, plus the ship will offer new nighttime clubs in the After Hours district with dancing, comedy, music and variety shows.

As you might guess, the renovation of the Magic will mean the creation of  many Hidden Mickeys. The newest edition of Hidden Mickeys Go To Sea was released just a few months ago, but you can be sure Steve Barrett, assisted by his legions of fans, will be ready to maintain all the updates.
