'Family Sabbatical Handbook' Named Book of the YearTakes Silver in the Family & Relationships Category(BRANFORD, CT) -- "The Family Sabbatical Handbook" (The Intrepid Traveler, $15.95), a guide to living abroad with your children, has been named a Silver winner of ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Award for 2007. The book was cited in the Family and Relationships category. The book, by St. Paul, Minnesota, writer Elisa Bernick, shows how ordinary, everyday families can finance and orchestrate an extended stay abroad for anywhere from six months to several years. Bernick is an award-winning writer and journalist. During her 25-year career, she has worked as a reporter and producer for radio, broadcast television, and cable stations that include Minnesota Public Radio, PBS, WCCO-TV, and Twin Cities Public Television. ForeWord Magazine, a bi-monthly journal of reviews and industry news for booksellers, announced the award at Book Expo America, in Los Angeles. The winners in 60 categories were determined by a panel of librarians and booksellers from across the country.
